Oh dang, Jingles, you’re right. I’d forgotten about Hobo. And all the cold cream (is that what it’s called?). Oh man, the cold cream. It took a lot to get all that paint off. The jacket and the big floppy clown shoes were the best part. And making my head explode trying to blow up those animal balloons. That was great. I’m glad we eventually got one of those balloon blower-uppers.

I wonder where all that clown (and puppet) stuff is now?

You mentioned not being alone on stage in a performance before now. How could you forget your role as hobo clown? The patch-work jacket and flesh-colored face paint were passed down through the ages. You made kids laugh and smile with your painted on frown and the balloon animals.

Er, kick ass compared to other community theaters anyway. Of course I know SCT is kick ass but not having been involved with other theaters I didn’t know if that is just the norm or if SCT is just above average. SCT is just above average. Way above.

From what I gather from those that know, the community theater here is kick ass so I got lucky in that regard.

If your local comm theater seems to be active and welcoming of new people you should definitely get involved in at least one show. From that experience you could decide to continue on with them or not.

The worst that could happen is that they’re all boneheaded losers that are painful to be around but then you could just go home and have a beer.

But you’ll never know how awesome it might be unless you just do it. And you don’t wanna regret one day years down the road that you never gave it a shot.

Wow, so many comments. I hope your scrolling ability is good enough to get this far to mine.
I have been in a few plays and have enjoyed the hell out of them. I like being the applause whore too, should I go and join the local theatre group, and what would be the downsides to doing this?

Kary, my brother, I’m so glad you had a good experience with us at SCT. I discovered this wonderful group of people about seven years ago, became actively involved about four years ago and now can’t imagine my life without them. I’m glad to have another brother on stage.

Wow. What a tribute. My life would certainly not the be same without this wonderful group of SCT friends. You realize, don’t you, that you now have at least 28 people on whom you can call for anything? Anything at all. Any need you may have. Any time at all. There are at least 28 more people who love you now than loved you two short months ago. Pretty amazing, huh?

There’s such a special bond that’s created when you share a stage with others . . . when you stand arm-in-arm in a giant circle anticipating the moments of magic you’ll experience together. I’m so glad you get it. You get us.

The BEST part is, you’ll be back! Ohmygosh, I just can’t wait!
